Currently I have read one news which were good to listen.
News was “India is world’s 7th wealthiest country” – United Nations
Its cool to hear right?
But, I am thinking it in a different way.
If India is 7th wealthiest country than why so many beggars we see daily?
Why small children sell national flag on Independence Day?
Why they don’t have money to study?
Why so many people do suicide every day?
Why people gets ready to take money on high interest rate?
And If this is condition of India at 7th rank.
What would be situation of people of so many country comes behind them.
What would be their situation?
Do you think this would be true findings?
If it’s true what would be consideration to give rank?
I think they would focus on total income and world’s 99% income is with 1% people.
So, I think issue is with same distribution of income among people of country.
So even though 7th position people don’t get benefit of that.
What you guys think about it. Just post your views in comments!!!
You are rite thats the thing ,max income is with small percentage of people.I feel poverty is so unfair, everyone deserves to have nice food,to wear good dress and dream of a good life.

At least they should have basic needs. People who are over wealthy should help them..

That will never happen, government only should come up with some idea or to distribute money equally, somethng should be done.there are wealth in the temple which can alleviate poverty of entire India in trivandrum ,but we are keeping it as of historical importance.

I saw that news too and just gave it a glimpse.. we all know why we Indians are 7th in rank and because of whom.. u correctly said 99% of wealth is with 1% of population.. the problem lies here only.. And I see no change in future

It will not change totally but at some point some one has to take initiative & should start with ourself in which ever way we can.

Rightly said, there is highly uneven distribution of income. The wealth of a country cannot be defined by fortunes of a handful lot.

I always understood India to be a poor country & am sorry for assuming so. This is a great observation. If India is indeed the 7th richest country than where is its money going if not to the people than obviously to a selected few. This observation exploits the sad reality in which is wrong with most governments.

Actually, India was one of the richest country in the past. That’s why British ruled our us so many years…

I am not trying to be ignorant, that’s why I ask. It is clear we are made to believe this if so many people seem to think the same thing. I have yet to have been there myself & am always curious as to how life REALLY is in other countries. I know it is not always what it’s seems, portrayed to be or what is said.

Actually, India is a multicultural country and may be possible you heard is from some part of India and scenario of whole country would be different. As it’s country with 2nd largest population after China with so many skilled people..

No, currently it’s 7th position in the past it was much better condition. But due to war and loss of freedom made situation worse…

Oh okay, now I understand. Regardless, you made a valid point. If the economy is so high than why such a high poverty rate? Is what I was referring to in my first comment.
